Job Summary
Plan and host 2-3 monthly events or workshops to promote social engagement, wellness, and stability for residents. Prepare a monthly schedule to serve specific community needs through resident events, workshops, and resource activities. Connect residents with local resources for rent and food assistance while updating a monthly resource list. Partner with community businesses and report activity and impact monthly to the supervisor. Serve 8 hours per week in San Antonio, TX, Monday through Friday before 5:30 pm, with availability for evening and weekend activities. This part-time role supports the Resident Services program within Apartment Life communities.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Bachelor's Degree or related experience in event planning, social impact, or human services
- Excellent listening/communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to provide after-hours or weekend activities as needed
- Basic computer skills
- Basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports
- Possess a current driver's license and liability insurance, and access to a form of reliable transportation to complete coordinator duties such as shopping for events and connecting with vendors
- Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds
- Have the availability to commit weekly hours to perform job responsibilities, mainly in the evenings and weekends when most residents are home
- Be able to make the minimum term commitment to serving in the apartment community
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required
- Experience serving at-risk populations preferred
- Previous event planning experience
- Experience working within a budget
- Some relevant experience using social media
- Have a network of support through potential volunteers, vendors, or community partners
