Job Summary
Plan and host 2-3 monthly events or workshops to promote social engagement, wellness, and stability for residents. Coordinate resident programming including workshops for adults and families, resourcing activities, and welcoming new residents. Connect residents with local resources for rent and food assistance while updating monthly resource lists. Partner with community businesses and corporate or nonprofit organizations to create holistic activities. Meet weekly with your supervisor to review program goals and submit monthly impact reports. Serve 8 hours per week in Irving, TX, Monday through Friday before 5:30 pm, or two 4-hour days.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Bachelor's Degree or related experience in event planning, social impact, or human services
- Excellent listening/communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to provide after-hours or weekend activities as needed
- Basic computer skills
- Basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports
- Possess a current driver's license and liability insurance, and access to a form of reliable transportation to complete coordinator duties such as shopping for events and connecting with vendors
- Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds
- Have the availability to commit weekly hours to perform job responsibilities, mainly in the evenings and weekends when most residents are home
- Be able to make the minimum term commitment to serving in the apartment community
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required
- Experience serving at-risk populations preferred
- Previous event planning experience
- Experience working within a budget
- Some relevant experience using social media
- Have a network of support through potential volunteers, vendors, or community partners
