Events and Experience Sales Manager

The Events and Experience Sales Manager is responsible for selling and booking events and experiences at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), including weddings, corporate, social, and industry events. The role involves client visits and meetings to prepare proposals and contracts, coordinating with internal departments to ensure successful event execution and client satisfaction, building client relationships across corporate, social, and association groups, creating promotional sales pieces with menus and pricing, attending large events to ensure flawless execution, leading VIP and special-request experiences, acting as the primary client relationship lead throughout the event lifecycle, upselling services to boost revenue (e.g., tour fees, room rentals, A/V charges, catering upgrades), coordinating with CIA Catering, chefs, managers, and cross-functional teams, using OpenTable, Tripleseat and 25 Live for bookings, and managing deposits and final payments. The role requires strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and availability to work nights and weekends. A minimum of an Associate’s Degree and 3+ years in Catering/Hospitality Management plus 2+ years in event sales are required, with CMP preferred.
