Job Summary
Provide crowd control and safety services for patrons, guests, and performers at concerts, sporting events, trade shows, and conferences. Maintain hospitality standards with all clients while enforcing venue-specific guidelines and utilizing de-escalation techniques to defuse situations. Conduct foot patrols and manage access control to ensure the wellbeing of everyone on site. Work evenings, weekends, and limited day shifts in Clarkston or Sterling Heights, Michigan, reporting to the Event Staff Supervisor. This temporary seasonal role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED
- At least 21 years old and be a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder to perform armed security work
- Not have been convicted of any felonies
- Not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses
- Ability to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana)
- Willingness to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and be capable of administering this care in emergency situations
- Ability to move quickly, including running short distances, to respond in emergency situations
- Physically and mentally sound and able to always remain alert while on duty
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk long distances, including navigating stairs, for the duration of the shift (8-12 hours)
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors during all seasons
- Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate keys, tools, and other equipment
- Ability to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Valid State of Michigan driver's license and have a clean driving record with less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, and no other major violations in the last 3 years (if driving company or client vehicles, or if using own vehicle for work activities)
- Must follow venue specific guidelines
- Must adhere to our company's Uniform and Appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, and professional image
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner
- Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
