Job Summary
Report to base operations for sign-in, briefing, and equipment pickup, then enforce wristband protocols at designated access control points. Maintain high visibility and professionalism at posts near university buildings and residences while monitoring crowds, controlling access, and reporting incidents to site management. Respond to supervisor direction regarding possible post relocation and use radios to maintain active communication throughout the shift. Remain standing or walking for extended periods in varying weather conditions while following all on-site protocols. This temporary event guard role covers the September 26, 2026 event at Wilfrid Laurier University with 8 to 12-hour shifts at $20.45/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Security Guard License (Ontario)
- Valid First AID & CPR C (WSIB Approved)
- Ability to stand and walk for long durations
- Comfortable working outdoors for entire shift
- Strong communication and conflict de-escalation skills
- Ability to follow protocol and maintain a professional demeanor
- Mandatory availability on September 26, 2026
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
