Event Security Guard - Kitchener

Monitor crowds and maintain a visible security presence throughout assigned areas at Wilfrid Laurier University's Waterloo Campus during the fall event season. Check wristbands and credentials at access control points to ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas. Maintain clear communication using an assigned two-way radio, reporting security concerns and incidents to supervisors while relocating between posts as directed. Use conflict resolution and verbal de-escalation techniques to handle challenging interactions with students, staff, and visitors. Perform duties outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing or walking for extended periods up to 12 hours. This temporary contract runs from August 31 to October 30, 2026, with mandatory availability on September 26, 2026. Candidates must hold a valid Ontario Security Guard License and WSIB-approved First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
