Event Security Coordinator

Job Summary
Coordinate security operations for ancillary events at Ilitch Sports + Entertainment venues, including Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park, and the Meadowbrook Amphitheatre. Manage security activities for specific locations like the Fox Theatre and Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre while ensuring staff deliver quality service through excellence in standards and professionalism. Gather pre-event information, complete event notes, and assist in briefing staff prior to ticketed and non-ticketed events. Respond to incident-related issues during events and work with managers to resolve security concerns. Ensure equipment such as metal detectors and hand wands is properly deployed and in working condition. Orient new staff during initial training and assist in tracking colleague attendance and discipline. Requires a bachelor's degree, two years of security experience, and the ability to travel throughout metro Detroit.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in area of study, preferably security management or criminal justice, experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in security and safety, experience with, public or private sector security and event management
- The ability to travel throughout metro Detroit
- Strong management and training ability
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
- Proof of and maintain a valid operator's license and clean driving record
- Must be willing and able to work evening and weekends
- Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with company policy and periodically checked thereafter
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in security management or criminal justice
- Professional training certifications in Security Management or Criminal Justice
