Job Summary
Leverage strategic sales leadership to drive private events and catering revenue for a major zoo. Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with corporate engagement, manage a full sales pipeline, secure large-scale zoo buyouts and premium experiences, coordinate sponsorship activations with Marketing, and build broad corporate partnerships. Lead a high-performing team, oversee CRM usage (Momentus or similar), ensure data integrity and timely reporting, manage the department’s P&L and budgeting, and present forecasts and KPIs to leadership. Foster cross-department collaboration to optimize client experiences and revenue growth, while upholding the zoo’s mission and conservation focus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field
- Minimum 5-8 years of sales and business development leadership, with proven experience in event venue sales
- Track record of achieving multimillion-dollar revenue growth through strategic sales and partnerships
- Experience with event and CRM systems
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L management and forecasting
- The ability to think strategically, with a strong understanding of both event sales and maintaining corporate relationships
- Strong organizational capabilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Analytical, data-driven, and comfortable with performance metrics and financial targets
- Entrepreneurial mindset with creativity to help develop new revenue streams
- Passionate about wildlife conservation, community engagement, and the Zoo’s mission
