Job Summary
Coordinate event setup and teardown at Peoria Zoo and Luthy Botanical Garden while maintaining designated area cleanliness. Assist full-time staff with routine duties during events and participate in signature Peoria Park District activities as assigned. Follow all district rules, policies, safety procedures, and picture-based event layouts under supervision. Perform physically demanding tasks including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Complete professional development sessions and team-building activities.
Required Qualifications
- Current college undergrad student (Sept 2026 - Dec 2026)
- ages 18 years or older
- up to 20 hours per week
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Ability to follow picture-based event layouts
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, safe, and equitable to both internal and external customers
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hospitality, special events and culinary experience
