Job Summary

Plan, coordinate, and execute culturally respectful community events, donor cultivation programs, and recurring group initiatives. Develop event briefs, timelines, and budgets while managing vendors, venues, permits, and insurance. Lead onsite setup, execution, and tear-down, serving as the central communication hub for updates and vendor confirmations. Deliver post-event reports within five business days and conduct venue walkthroughs with safety teams. Maintain budget accuracy within five percent variance and ensure all compliance documentation is current.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Strong organization, time management, and communication abilities
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in event planning, logistics, community events, or related duties
  • Interest in developing skills in advanced event strategy, donor experience, or community engagement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Cultural competence in American Indian values and practices, or a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends (2 to 4 weekends per quarter, as needed) and travel locally as needed
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and abide by HIPAA policies
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to be insured under SIHC's vehicle policy
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Must be culturally competent and have knowledge of American Indians and Indian values and practices
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must have the willingness and ability to adapt to change including advances in technology
  • Demonstrate public relations, customer service, scheduling, knowledge of advanced parking principles and leadership skills
  • Requires exceptional organizational skills, excellent time management, attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple events simultaneously

  • Travel may be required
  • Must be responsible and able to exercise good judgment

  • Participation in all compliance training is mandatory
  • Applicants must successfully pass a pre-screening tuberculin skin test or x-ray and a blood/urine drug screening test
  • Health must be adequate to perform all duties of the position
  • Applicants must complete SIHC Application and Authorization Form
  • Must be enrolled, or be eligible for enrollment, as an American Indian with their Tribe, or must be certified as an American Indian from the designated Tribal Representative

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Tribal communities and/or nonprofits
  • Event planning certification (CMP, CSEP, or equivalent)
  • Experience using Monday.com, Eventbrite, CharityEngine, Canva, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to provide photography/video support when feasible
  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management or related field
  • Must be able to interact effectively and communicate with people in a professional and courteous manner
  • Applicants should be sensitive to clients' needs
  • Strong team building, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective peer relationships with coworkers within the Department, clinic-wide, and the public
