Job Summary
Part-time onsite Event Manager for Candlelight Concerts in Portland, Maine. Acts as the main onsite contact for Candlelight events and staff, manages staff rosters and scheduling, coordinates with the Fever Originals manager and staffing agency on event reschedules, trains staff for duties such as ticket validation, guest seating, and candle setup, and oversees venue logistics including inventory, printing needs, and guest lists. Responsible for delivering opening/closing remarks (may include public speaking), weekly status reporting to Fever Originals Project Managers, and possibly conducting venue walk-throughs. Requires 1+ years of event management experience (preferred), strong customer service and on-site leadership skills, ability to work under pressure, knowledge of AV/PA systems (desirable), and a driver’s license (preferred). Contract spans 6 months with weekly shows averaging 4-8 hours per day, up to 29 hours per week, paid at $25/hour.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in event management and/or a relevant degree (preferred)
- Interest and passion for live music and organizing events
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Experience leading an on-site team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good ability to work in a pressured environment
- Knowledge of AV and PA systems (desirable)
- The use of personal laptop will be required
- Driver’s License is strongly preferred
