Job Summary
Coordinate event logistics, act as the primary liaison between clients and building operations, and run the show during events while ensuring all safety and policy protocols are met. Develop and control event budgets, prepare detailed staffing and setup requirements using industry software, and troubleshoot operational issues to ensure contractual agreements and fire codes are followed. Oversee production, setup, and contracted services, monitor facility cleanliness, and enforce facility policies by resolving public and event-related complaints. Serve as the facility manager on duty, communicate with the executive team, and maintain relationships with lessees, contractors, and municipal officials. This role requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a Bachelor's degree in event management or a related field and 3-5 years of experience in a public assembly facility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university with major coursework in event management, facility management, sports management, hospitality management, business administration, or a related field
- Must have supervisory experience and the ability to select, train, motivate, and manage staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience in event management in a public assembly facility, convention center, arena, hotel, or similar facility
- Knowledge of operational characteristics of events, including crowd management and control techniques; fire and public safety regulations; food service practices; A/V equipment; and relevant federal, state, and local regulations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; experience with event management software and layouts
