Job Summary
Event Coordinator role supporting DigEM/UBC Emergency Medicine with end-to-end event management for conferences, forums, and workshops. Responsibilities include researching venues, negotiating contracts, coordinating speakers and interpreters, managing registration and virtual/in-person formats, producing handouts/programs, liaising with sponsors and vendors, developing communications and marketing materials, handling budgets and invoicing, maintaining contacts databases, coordinating with university departments and community partners, and ensuring equitable, professional event delivery across multiple platforms and locations. Requires a two-year diploma and at least two years of related experience; preferred candidates may hold an undergraduate degree and have experience managing healthcare-related events for multicultural audiences. Ability to work weekends or outside regular hours and travel to different venues is expected; strong written/verbal communication, problem-solving, and diplomacy are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Two year diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Tourism, or Event Management
- Minimum two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
