Job Summary
The Catering Captain leads on-site catering operations for events, supervising catering staff, acting as the primary on-site contact for clients, guests, and vendors, and assisting with hands-on event execution including food and beverage service. Responsibilities include supervising setup, service, and breakdown; ensuring adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards; communicating event details and feedback to the Catering Manager; training staff; and maintaining inventory and proper handling of catering equipment and supplies.
Required Qualifications
- Previous catering or food service experience required
- supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
