Job Summary
Event Captain to lead catering event operations in Richmond. Responsible for the safe transport of food, drinks, and equipment to the event venue, and for managing all aspects of the event including set-up, serving meals and beverages, and take-down. Will carry out the Sales Event Coordinator's plan, adapt to different venues, and lead a team of co-captains, servers, and bartenders. Maintain communication with the host, be resourceful in addressing issues, and foster an environment that develops team members. Requires 1-2 years of catering/banquet experience, strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, and the physical stamina to work long hours; ability to lift 50 pounds. Flexible hours including nights and weekends; Covid-19 vaccination preferred. Hourly pay is $24-$26 plus tips.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of catering or banquet service experience
- Experience leading a team
- Excellent communication ability (verbal and written)
- Positive and empowering interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina to work long hours (lift 50 pounds)
- Covid-19 vaccination preferred
