Job Summary
Convert 3D concepts and visuals into detailed drawings, considering structure, materials, and finishes at every step. Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure drawings account for venue health and safety, lighting, staging, and equipment standards. Produce accurate floorplans, elevations, sections, and seating layouts while factoring in client preferences, venue specifications, and safety regulations. Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and problem-solve on-site scenarios. You will work closely with the design team to turn their vision into buildable realities for world-class live events.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CAD Technician with a focus on event design
- Previous on-site experience in live event execution
- Proficiency in Vectorworks, in both 3D modelling and 2D drafting
- Ability to produce accurate, detailed floorplans, elevations, sections and seating layouts
- Strong knowledge of construction, fabrication and manufacturing techniques
- Knowledge of set fabrication, material sheet sizes, and steel/aluminium frames and sections
- Knowledge of materials and finishes suited to high-end brand experiences
- Working understanding of lighting, control, broadcast and stage design
- Ability to specify standard stage deck sizes and event equipment correctly
- Excellent attention to detail and precision
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across creative and production teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to problem-solve on the fly, especially in on-site scenarios
