Job Summary
Evening Part-Time early childhood educator position at Stepping Stones in St. George, UT. Responsibilities include supervising and leading children through weekly curriculum and daily activities (indoor/outdoor play, group activities, snacks), implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences, engaging families, resolving conflicts with positive guidance, preparing meals and cleaning up, administering Ages and Stages Screeners to track development, documenting observations and sharing progress with families, participating in parent-teacher conferences, conducting daily safety checks, maintaining a healthy classroom environment, and completing required logs and CACFP documentation. Requires an associate degree, CDA, or higher in a related field, 30 hours of approved Utah Early Childhood Career Ladder courses, 1+ year of lead-teacher or related administrative experience, 18+ years old, background check, CPR/First Aid, and Food Handlers permits. Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, CDA (Child Development Associate), or higher education degree in a related field (child development, early childhood education, family studies, psychology)
- at least 30 clock hours of approved Utah Early Childhood Career Ladder courses in child development, social and emotional development, and childcare environments
- 1+ years’ experience in early childhood care and education as a lead teacher and/or administrative experience as an assistant director
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must pass a Utah Child Care Licensing Background Check
- Complete 20 Hours of annual training or at least 1-1/2 hours of childcare training including Utah Child Care Licensing topics, career ladder courses on: child development, ages and stages administration, director’s toolbox endorsement, working with families, culturally and linguistically appropriate practices
- Complete and maintain current CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers Permit certifications
- Background check successful completion
- Training upon hire per Utah Child Care Licensing: Preservice training that consists of 2.5 hours before assuming assistant director duties
