Job Summary
Set up medications, perform narcotic counts, and administer treatments while checking MARs for errors and documenting resident changes. Assist residents with activities of daily living, grooming, toileting, and mobility, including responding to call lights and making rounds for safety. Manage meal service logistics, answer inquiries, and provide tours to potential residents while maintaining confidentiality and excellent communication. Occasionally lead the shift or team as needed and attend required training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in medication administration
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Must be able to lift residents in excess of 100 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach
- Must be able to handle objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently
- Must show compassion and genuinely care for the elderly and disabled
- Must be knowledgeable of the location of the SDS sheets on hazardous materials and able to understand the guidelines
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload as emergencies arise
- Ability to work in stressful situations with residents, families, visitors, and other staff
- Must have knowledge and skills to administer medications safely
- Must demonstrate a SERVANT heart and attitude by following the Bethesda Senior Living Communities' mission statement
- Must be available for weekends and holidays
- Must be available for evening shift
- Must be able to work full time

- High School diploma or equivalent

- Ability to assist residents with showers, grooming, dressing, and toileting

- Ability to assist with basic cleaning and maintenance issues
- Ability to clean up after incidents
- Ability to assist residents who have fallen
- Ability to escort residents to and from the dining room
- Ability to pick up laundry and transport to laundry room
- Ability to assist in serving meals and beverages
- Ability to schedule doctor appointments
- Ability to admit new residents
- Ability to call Health Services Director, doctors, and families regarding changes in condition
- Ability to attend meetings/in-services/training sessions
- Ability to communicate with Culinary Services Director and/or Host/Hostess
- Ability to take resident orders for meals
- Ability to provide drink refills
- Ability to clean, reset and prepare the dining room
- Ability to be assigned as shift/team leader
