Job Summary
Evening Shift Manager administers all aspects of the custodian contract at the assigned site for the evening shift (1:30pm–10:00pm). Responsible for managing the performance and time schedules of supervisors overseeing cleaning crews, assigning and overseeing project work, training and inspecting staff to ensure contract requirements are met, conducting quarterly evaluations, ensuring compliance with safety and buildingSecurity protocols, overseeing documentation and reporting, onboarding new employees, and implementing training and process improvements to maintain high-quality custodial services for a government facility. Must maintain strong interpersonal skills and respect for persons with disabilities, adhere to all policies, and coordinate with the Project Manager and HR on personnel matters. Essential duties include enforcing contract specifications, supervising staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks, maintaining daily/weekly/monthly reports, and sustaining operations under inclement or emergency conditions. Demonstrates knowledge of safety standards, SIDA procedures, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while communicating effectively with government staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years recent supervisory experience in directing cleaning operations for buildings of similar size
- Valid driver’s license from state of residence with at least 3 years of valid driving history
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Knowledge of green cleaning principles and CIMS certification requirements
- Knowledge of regulatory standards, hospital standards, and facility management
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to supervise and develop others
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and government staff
- Ability to plan, implement, organize, and prioritize
- Ability to work flexible schedule as required
- Ability to complete tasks with interruptions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
