Job Summary
Receive and process blood, urine, tissue, and stool samples for clinical trials per protocol guidelines, logging them into and out of the department. Coordinate with external pathology facilities for tissue blocks, send slides to vendors for cutting, and ship results to the study's lab. Record all data in specified paper and electronic forms, enter entries into the departmental database, and correct discrepancies by coordinating with clinical staff. Organize reagents per safety instructions, maintain equipment, and ensure a clean lab environment. Manage inventory of clinical trial and departmental supplies, restock consumables, and perform administrative functions like filing and scanning. Prepare collection tubes and aliquots for the next day's clinic.
Required Qualifications
- Lab Assistant training
- Associate degree in the Sciences
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- IATA Dangerous Goods handling certification
- Prior lab experience including sample processing and shipping experience
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel and databases
