Job Summary
Maintain the school building by sweeping, vacuuming, and disinfecting classrooms, corridors, and restrooms daily. Regulate HVAC systems, shovel snow, wash windows twice yearly, and conduct periodic electrical safety inspections. Keep grounds clear of rubbish, move furniture as directed, and perform minor repairs while reporting major issues immediately. Secure the building by checking locks, windows, and lights before departure, and raise the flag at appropriate times. Provide custodial care that reflects pride in the district's appearance throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Ability to work with students and adult personnel
- Able to follow work schedules and work independently without direct supervision
- Knowledge of general maintenance and cleaning of commercial buildings
- Able to frequently lift a minimum of 50 pounds and occasionally lift over 50 pounds
- Able to stand and work for long periods of time on concrete and tile floors
- Able to complete repetitious tasks with hands (vacuuming, dusting, and buffing)
- Able to work off of ladders and high platforms
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Able to operate light equipment
- Dependable
