Job Summary
Evening Custodian at Latin School of Chicago handling general custodial duties in a school setting: dusting, mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, restocking supplies, maintaining custodial equipment, trash removal, door security, snow removal, floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction, cleaning offices, and assisting with event setups. Must be able to work 3:00pm–11:30pm on Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat; duties require safe handling of cleaning chemicals, independent work, and adherence to safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience strongly preferred
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned areas efficiently
- Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment and safety practices
- Experience using carpet extraction or similar equipment is helpful
- Basic maintenance skills to make minor repairs
