Job Summary
Conduct evening custodial services from 2:30pm to 11:00pm, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting classrooms, restrooms, and grounds to maintain a sanitary environment. Monitor students and staff in work areas to ensure safety, respond to immediate operational concerns, and secure facilities and grounds. Perform minor maintenance on equipment and furniture, replenish supplies, and prepare sites for daily operations by opening gates and salting walkways. Document activities through written materials like timesheets and safety inspections, participate in unit meetings, and follow emergency procedures including snow removal and fire evacuation plans. Transport tools and supplies as needed, reporting to the Immediate Supervisor for the 2026-27 school year.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience
- Operating equipment and materials used in industrial maintenance
- Adhering to safety practices
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records
- Basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios
- Reading and following instructions
- Understanding complex, multi-step written and oral instructions
- Methods of industrial cleaning including floor and carpet
- Basic tools for minor repairs
- Safety practices and procedures
- Scheduling activities, meetings, and/or events
- Gathering and/or collating data
- Considering a number of factors when using equipment
- Flexibility to work with others
- Working with data utilizing specific, defined processes
- Operating equipment using a variety of standardized methods
