Job Summary
Maintain building cleanliness and safety by cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and classrooms daily, while shoveling sidewalks and managing trash. Inspect exit doors, panic bolts, and safety equipment, reporting emergencies, repairs, or hazards to the head custodian or principal immediately. Secure the building at opening and closing, verify all lights are off, and ensure student safety throughout the shift. Operate cleaning equipment, maintain supply inventories, and follow OSHA regulations for waste disposal and PPE use. Work Monday through Friday from 2:30pm to 11pm in a Dublin, OH school environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to pass a FBI/BCI Background Check
- A high school diploma or training and experiences that are considered equivalent
- A proficiency in general repair, painting, cleaning, and operating of cleaning equipment
- An ability to communicate in a courteous manner
- A neat appearance
- An ability to carry out assigned duties
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English
- Must be able to work individually
- The ability to stand for 95% of an average week
- Walking, bending, twisting, climbing, turning of head and torso, crawling, reaching, flexing the arms and legs, and stooping as necessary
- Lifting and carrying weights up to 50 pounds to include wearing of backpack vacuum for extended periods
- This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, reach at or below shoulder level, use foot or leg controls, gross manipulation, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb ramps or stairs, climb ladders, utilize near and far visual activity, speak, and hear
- Remains free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district
- Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
