Evening Circulation Librarian

Job Summary
Conduct evening and afternoon library services Sunday-Thursday (2pm-10pm), assisting patrons with locating materials, accessing electronic resources, research, and printing while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Oversee the day-to-day and long-term wellbeing of physical and intellectual holdings by managing new book shelving, adjusting electronic records, rebalancing collections, and coordinating biennial inventory. Sweep floors for misplaced items, reshelve materials, and run reports on checked-out and overdue items to coordinate returns. Submit billable items to the business office and maintain Summer School/TEC card information. This role supports the Taft School's community engagement and educational programs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a school, college, or public library
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
- Close attention to detail
- Ability to work in a noisy, user-centered environment
- Good communication skills
- Computer/technological skills
- Desire to learn new skills related to the role
- Ability to work well with others
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in History, Sociology, or the sciences
