Job Summary
Lead major testing campaigns for the AxEVA System by defining and maintaining system and subsystem integrated performance assessments. Execute end-to-end, cradle-to-grave systems engineering for EVA systems, including suits, flight support equipment, and EVA tools, by developing concepts of operations, subsystem-level requirements, and procurement specifications. Create and manage the EVA Systems Model in Cameo, integrating it into Jama for full requirement-to-design traceability. Support definition, planning, and closure for verification and validation of EVA requirements while performing trade studies to improve communications capabilities. Provide down-and-in system and subsystem-level support, including change impact analysis, and maintain product breakdown structures. This role is onsite in Webster, Texas, with potential evening and weekend availability for critical milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline)
- A minimum of 6+ years systems engineering experience including activities across the lifecycle (e.g., concepts, requirements, design support, integration, V&V)
- Experience using Cameo or similar tools for creation, analysis, and application of System Models to address systems development trades and architecture development
- Experience with communications systems including UHF, WiFi, and cellular/5G
- Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs, with related experience in the testing of spacecraft, spacesuits, space vehicles
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods (90% of the time)
