EV Battery Technician Specialist

Job Summary
Perform high-voltage EV battery replacements and diagnostics, depower and uninstall old packs, and install new units. Adhere to high-voltage safety protocols and isolation procedures. Conduct pre- and post-installation software checks to ensure battery packs communicate with the vehicle’s Battery Management System (BMS). Inspect battery enclosures, HV wiring harnesses, and thermal management/cooling systems for integrity and correct routing during replacement. Maintain meticulous records of diagnostics, component serial numbers, and rework actions to ensure OEM compliance and traceability.
Required Qualifications
- IMI Level 2 or Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
- Authorised person or Senior Authorised person
- Proven track record as an Auto Electrical Technician or EV Mechanic, ideally with OEM environments/launch phases/end-of-line repair
- Technical Rigor: Electrical diagnostics, CAN bus systems, and high-voltage safety protocols
- Hardware Skills: Heavy-duty hydraulic lifts, battery tables, and alignment equipment
