Job Summary
Oversee the preparation and review of corporate income tax returns and quarterly/annual tax provisions across European jurisdictions under US GAAP, IFRS, and local standards. Manage tax payments, filing deadlines, and statutory obligations while partnering with finance teams to validate data for compliance and reporting. Review business transactions and intercompany flows, support tax audits and inquiries from authorities, and identify opportunities to automate and standardize tax processes. Provide guidance to junior team members and collaborate on global tax initiatives, systems implementations, and cross-border considerations. During an initial period, support Luxembourg-based activities in coordination with the local finance function. This role strengthens governance and audit readiness for Convera, the largest non-bank B2B cross-border payments company, as we deliver smarter money movements to over 30,000 global customers.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field
- professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent)
- 6–10+ years of corporate tax experience
- strong exposure to European income tax compliance and tax accounting
- Experience managing multi-country tax compliance processes
- Strong technical knowledge of corporate income tax, tax provisioning (US GAAP and/or IFRS or LUX GAAP), and deferred tax accounting
- Familiarity with transfer pricing concepts and intercompany transactions
- Experience working with external advisors and coordinating cross-border tax matters
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets to support tax analysis and reporting
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities across jurisdictions
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with finance, legal, and business stakeholders across different regions
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment
- Curiosity and commercial awareness, with the ability to connect tax requirements to broader business operations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing multi-country tax compliance processes, ideally across several European jurisdictions
- Understanding financial services or fintech industry
- Experience with ERP and consolidation systems (e.g., Oracle, FCCS)
