Job Summary
Lecture-based course EU490 B6: Special Education II (Winter 2027) focused on inclusive teaching practices, examining historical and social movements shaping contemporary views of ability and disability, and guiding Teacher Candidates to adopt a strengths-based perspective. The course covers curriculum expectations, learning and teaching across grade levels (PJ: K-6; JI: 4-10), with the candidate collaborating with the course lead to ensure consistency across sections. Requires expertise in Special Education, Ontario teaching experience, and appropriate qualifications; the successful candidate will contribute to course delivery and assessment for a 3-hour weekly in-person session (Winter 2027) and participate in the hiring process as described in the posting.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education
- Bachelor of Education and/or K–10 Teaching Certification
- Ontario Teaching experience (K-6 for PJ sections, grades 4-10 for JI sections)
- Special Education specialization
- post-secondary teaching experience (preferred)
- Leadership/scholarship in Special Education (preferred)
