Job Summary
Conduct composite blade repair up-tower via platforms, rope access, and ground operations using epoxy, polyester resin wet layup, vacuum infusion, and balsa/foam sandwich materials. Perform structural repairs and complete detailed daily progress reporting, QAQC reports, and onsite stock checks. Assist site leads and project coordinators while traveling 100% on a rotational basis across U.S. wind farms. Requires 2+ years of composite repair experience, GWO BST/ART certifications, and physical capability to lift 75 pounds. Candidates must hold valid driver's licenses and pass background checks.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of Composite repair experience
- Platform and/or rope access experience
- Knowledge of fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair methods
- Ability to safely and properly use powered hand tools
- Good finger dexterity, including precise use of hand and power tools
- Understanding of repair specifications
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and processes
- IT literate, including email, internet, and iPad usage
- Ability to work well in a team, take guidance, and provide leadership when required
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in scope and work assignments
- Physically capable of meeting strenuous job requirements, including climbing ladders and scaffolding, bending, crawling, stooping, and lifting up to 75 pounds
- Ability to wear a respirator and work safely with protective equipment
- Good vision (with corrective lenses if necessary) to perform detailed inspections, read instructions, and safely operate equipment
- Valid driver's license, good MVR report, and must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and maintain a drug-free status
- GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) – fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid
- GWO ART (Advanced Rescue Training Hub/Nacelle)
- GWO Slinger Signaller or Siemens Rigging Safety
- GWO Blade Repair or Advanced Blade Repair from any of the approved providers: AmuSyd, Team 1, Blade Repair Academy or Green SGBTCF Blade Technician Profile
- Spot Paint certification
- Rigging Safety
- SGRE Blade C or Blade D certification
