Job Summary
Track EU climate policy and carbon market developments, focusing on the EU ETS and CBAM. Monitor market impacts, provide briefings to members, and develop advocacy initiatives through collaboration with IETA's membership. Represent IETA at conferences, engage with policymakers in Brussels and national capitals, and organize Working Group meetings. Build stakeholder relationships, manage the membership pipeline, and respond to member queries. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of EU institutions and legislative processes, with 3-5 years of relevant experience. You will work flexibly within a small team, with opportunities for international collaboration and occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- A comprehensive understanding of EU climate policy and carbon market frameworks, and overall EU political landscape
- Strong knowledge of EU institutions and EU legislative process
- Ability to write clearly for different audiences and speak at external events
- Excellent policy analysis
- Previous experience in industry/membership associations
- Ability to work flexibly and with high levels of autonomy, as part of a small team
- Excellent spoken and written English
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Preferably an established network in Brussels
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of energy/emissions trading markets
- Experience working for a Not-for-Profit Organisation
- Knowledge of other EU languages (German, French)
