Job Summary

Coordinate QA/QC activities at job sites to ensure work meets regulatory, customer, and company quality requirements. Review disassembly/assembly procedures, customer specifications, and code requirements while establishing testing requirements, hold points, and compiling quality documentation. Inspect all permanent materials and in-progress work to verify compliance with applicable codes, jurisdictional standards, and specifications. Schedule inspections and examinations with subcontractors and customer representatives, and provide vendor surveillance as needed. Maintain welder qualifications, complete required forms, and attend mandatory trainings. Work independently in a petrochemical/refinery environment with variable hours, over-time, and extensive travel throughout the U.S.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of petrochemical/refinery industry
  • Required knowledge of Quality System standards
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Class A driver's license
  • Clean MVR
  • Valid TWIC
  • Basic Plus training
  • Confined Space training
  • Ability to read, write, and understand communication including directions, instructions, and warning signs
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairways
  • Must be able to work off platforms
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to lift more than 51 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, climb, squat, reach, kneel, push/pull, stand, sit, have hand strength and dexterity
  • Must be able to wear protecting hearing equipment
  • Must be able to use a respirator
  • Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test (PFT)
  • Must be able to pass all required drug/alcohol testing
  • Must be able to pass background requirements
  • Must be able to work in cold working conditions during winter months
  • Must be able to work in hot working conditions during the summer months
  • Must be able to work in a petrochemical / refinery environment
  • Must be able to be exposed to noise
  • Must be able to be exposed to hazardous chemicals in an emergency situation
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Must be able to travel throughout U.S.
  • Must be able to stay overnight for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to establish priorities
  • Must be able to work without supervision
  • Must be able to follow all Company Safety, Quality Control/ Quality Assurance procedures
  • Must be able to follow OSHA guidelines
  • Must be able to maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions
  • Must be able to attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or technical degree
  • 12 months quality and inspection experience in related industry
  • Certified ISO 9001
  • AWC-CWI/CAWI certification
  • API 510- Pressure Vessels certification
  • API 570- Piping certification
  • API 653- Storage Tanks certification
  • ASNT SNT-TC-IA Level II- Film Interpretation (RT) certification
  • ASNT SNT-TC-IA Level II- Penetrant Testing (PT) certification
  • ASNT SNT-TC-IA Level II- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) certification
  • ASNT SNT-TC-IA Level II- Ultrasonic Testing (UT) certification
  • OSHA 10/30 training
