Job Summary
Assist keeping the job site clean, dispose of waste products properly, and arrange tools and equipment after use. Load and unload equipment or materials, and assist in the set-up of equipment as assigned by the Supervisor, Superintendent, Lead Craft, or Project Manager. Follow all Company Safety, Quality Control/Quality Assurance procedures and OSHA guidelines while maintaining poise under time constraints and adverse conditions. Attend and complete required trainings, pass drug/alcohol testing, and background requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned in a petrochemical/refinery environment with potential exposure to cold, heat, noise, and hazardous chemicals. This project-based role involves extensive travel throughout the U.S. and overnight stays, with variable hours and common overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- See, read, write and understand communication including directions, instructions and warning signs
- Must be able to lift up to 51 pounds
- Must be able to lift more than 100 pounds (occasionally)
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairways
- Must be able to work off platforms
- Ability to verbally communicate alarms or warnings clearly, concisely, loudly and quickly
- Ability to clearly and quickly hear or otherwise sense alarms or warning and take appropriate action
- Ability to maintain equilibrium to prevent falling when moving, walking, standing, kneeling or crouching
- Ability to sense physical attributes such as size, shape, temperature, texture or sharpness of an object by touching
- Ability to grasp, grip and/or apply pressure to an object with the fingers, palm
- Ability to lift, raise or lower objects in a vertical direction
- Ability to move objects backwards, forward, in or out in a horizontal direction
- Ability to pull objects in sustained motion
- Ability to reach, extend the hand (s) and/or arm(s) in any direction
- Ability to see and distinguish colors
- Ability to visually distinguish shapes and patterns
- Ability to accurately sense distances (depth perception)
- Ability to accurately see objects and detect motion and wide angles (peripheral vision)
- Ability to pass all required drug/alcohol testing
- Ability to successfully pass a pulmonary function test (PFT)
- Ability to be fit tested for the various respirators used
- Must be able to work in cold working conditions during winter months
- Must be able to work in hot working conditions during the summer months
- Ability to wear protecting hearing equipment
- Ability to use a respirator
- Ability to work in a petrochemical / refinery environment
- Ability to work in a shop environment
- Ability to work in a client facility
- Ability to conduct all Company business in accordance with Company policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings
- Ability to maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions
- Ability to attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client
