Job Summary
Read schedules, inventory reports, work orders, and forecasts to determine material requirements and order priority. Confer with supervisors and project managers to identify overdue items and inform management of material status. Direct warehouse staff to expedite transfers from stock to production areas. Examine received materials, verify part numbers, and check for discrepancies such as damage or missing markings. Compare work ticket specifications against materials used to verify appropriate project assignment. This project-based role involves extensive travel throughout the U.S. with overnight stays and requires adherence to internal policies and Sarbanes Oxley regulations. Candidates must maintain poise under time constraints and adverse conditions, including potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures in a petrochemical or refinery environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years' prior experience as an expeditor
- Experience in the petrochemical / refinery industry
- Pass all required drug/alcohol testing
- Ability to successfully pass a pulmonary function test (PFT)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be available for extensive travel throughout U.S. and overnight stay for extended periods of time
- Must be available for over-time work
- Must be able to operate in a petrochemical/ refinery environment with exposure to cold working conditions during winter months and hot working conditions during the summer months
- Must be able to wear protecting hearing equipment or frequently shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level
- Must be able to use a respirator in an emergency situation
- Must be able to pass a fit test for the various respirators used
- Must be able to adhere to internal policies and procedures and Sarbanes Oxley regulations
- Must be able to maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to perform physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be fit tested for various respirators and pass a pulmonary function test (PFT)
