Job Summary
Develop and execute ETL test plans, test cases, and scripts to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from source systems to target data warehouses. Perform source-to-target data validation using SQL queries, verify business transformation rules, and conduct completeness, integrity, and reconciliation testing. Identify and report data discrepancies, defects, and inconsistencies while collaborating with Data Engineers and developers to resolve issues. Validate scheduled ETL jobs, monitor batch processing results, and ensure compliance with data governance and security standards. Prepare test documentation, defect reports, and execution summaries within Agile/Scrum environments.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis
- Hands-on experience in ETL Testing and data validation
- Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
- Knowledge of data modeling concepts including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ETL tools such as: Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, Microsoft SSIS, IBM DataStage, Pentaho, Ab Initio
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or AWS Redshift
- Basic knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for test automation
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
