Job Summary
Design, develop, test, optimize, and maintain the full ETL lifecycle, defining extraction strategies, cleansing rules, and transformation logic from business requirements. Write complex SQL for querying and optimization, then build and automate workflows in Python, Java, and Shell while contributing to Hive-based data warehouse design and maintenance. Integrate Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka technologies, monitor jobs, configure alerts, and resolve data latency or consistency issues. Partner with business teams on requirement analysis, solution design, and data validation, ensuring delivery on international projects with English as the primary working language.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of hands-on ETL or data engineering experience
- Strong SQL, including complex queries and query optimization
- Programming in at least one of Python, Java, or Shell, with working knowledge of the others
- Experience with Hive and an understanding of data warehouse layering (ODS, DWD, DWS, ADS)
- Exposure to Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka in a production or project setting
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting scheduled data jobs
- Professional English, written and spoken
- Based in or willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia
