ETL Developer / Power BI
On-siteBurbank Los Angeles County, California, United States
Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models that support portfolio and product decision-making. Build and optimize DAX measures, calculated tables, and model relationships to ensure accuracy, scalability, and performance across large, multi-source datasets. Integrate and transform data from upstream systems including Smartsheet, Jira, SAP, ServiceNow, Clarity PPM, and SQL-based sources using Power Query and Dataflows. Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, manage workspaces and apps, and enforce reporting standards to reduce inconsistencies. Partner with upstream owners to improve data quality and implement agentic AI solutions for automated analytics workflows. This role requires 7+ years of enterprise BI experience, advanced Power BI expertise, and Snowflake proficiency. Candidates must operate independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 7+ years of experience developing enterprise BI/reporting solutions, with significant hands-on Power BI development, preferably in an Enterprise Technology organization
- Advanced expertise in Power BI, including DAX, semantic/data modeling, calculated tables, and performance optimization across large datasets
- Experience with Power BI administration and delivery practices (workspaces, apps, refresh/gateways, access controls) as applicable
- Strong Power Query (M) and SQL skills, including data transformation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting of data issues
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including designing and optimizing cloud-based data warehouses, integrating Snowflake with Power BI and enterprise platforms through scalable ETL/ELT patterns, and supporting high performance, multi source analytics and data modernization initiatives in partnership with upstream system owners
- Demonstrated experience integrating data across multiple enterprise systems (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, SAP, ServiceNow, Clarity PPM, SQL-based sources, custom solutions)
- Proven experience working with imperfect or inconsistent data, identifying root causes, and improving data quality across upstream systems
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal direction
- Systems-level thinker with the ability to understand and optimize end-to-end data flows across multiple platforms and tools
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills in ambiguous, evolving environments with incomplete or conflicting data
- Ownership mindset with a track record of taking accountability for outcomes—not just deliverables
- Ability to challenge assumptions, push back on unclear requirements, and drive alignment across stakeholders
- Experience in delivering insights that influence strategic decisions
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured data models, metrics, and insights
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with other data visualization tools and proven experience building solutions with agentic AI is preferred
- Experience with other data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or advanced Excel visualization
- Experience operationalizing AI-assisted analytics or copilots (e.g., prompt/design patterns, evaluation, monitoring, and responsible AI practices) is a plus
- Proven experience in agentic AI (designing and deploying agentic workflows using LLMs and tools to autonomously plan, execute, and validate analytics tasks) with an emphasis on security, reliability, and human-in-the-loop controls
