Job Summary
Own end-to-end delivery of backend features from requirements clarification through development, testing, and deployment using Python and Django. Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and APIs while contributing to backend architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization. Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring reliability and maintainability across environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring code quality through reviews and automated testing. Optimize applications for scalability and security, support production deployments, and mentor junior developers within assigned workstreams. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and integrate AI/ML-driven features such as recommendation systems and document processing into backend services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 1+ years of backend development experience, with demonstrated ownership of feature delivery
- Strong proficiency in Python and Django (or similar frameworks)
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services
- Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data modeling
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Familiarity with testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes
- Strong understanding of software design principles, scalability, and performance optimization
- Proven ability to work in agile, fast-paced delivery environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Django REST Framework (DRF) or similar API frameworks
- Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures or messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML services or working with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure AI)
- Understanding of data engineering concepts (pipelines, ETL, data processing)
- Experience in client-facing or consulting environments
