Job Summary
Facilitate institutional client orders across ETFs, equity index and single-stock futures, and equity options while quoting competitive markets and managing inventory risk. Deliver market colour, trade ideas, and execution to clients, with the opportunity to identify and pursue quantitative trading strategies within equities markets. Build and enhance internal tools that support pricing, risk management, and client service. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science, plus advanced proficiency in Bloomberg, Fidessa, and IRESS. This client-facing position within Canaccord Genuity's Institutional Equities group provides liquidity in Canadian-listed ETFs and equity futures/options for institutional investors.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in capital markets, equity trading, derivatives, quant trading, or a related client-facing / institutional role
- Strong commercial instincts
- Communication skills
- Practical understanding of equity markets and listed derivatives
- Strong understanding of ETF ecosystem dynamics, including authorized participants, creation / redemption processes, and market structure
- Experience trading derivative instruments including futures, options, swaps, and FX products
- Strong knowledge of capital markets, portfolio management principles, and risk management practices
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and market / trading platforms such as Bloomberg, Fidessa, IRESS, WEX, or equivalent systems
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proof of citizenship, permanent residence or eligibility to work in Canada with no restrictions
