Etch Equipment Field Installation and Design Engineer

Job Summary
Maintain, develop, and improve ETCH semiconductor process equipment hardware by building, fault-finding in new designs, and installing products at customer sites. Wire harness and mechanical design improve serviceability while testing and compliance ensure machines meet international standards. Plan and execute hardware testing, validation, and performance characterisation, working with process engineers to optimise reliability. Report back to the factory on improvements and customer requirements, often travelling internationally ~50% of the time to assist with problems. Support technology development programmes from early concept through to customer-ready status.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum HNC Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or related field
- Experience in a customer facing role
- Experience working in a design role with an eye for continuous improvement
- An understanding of Machinery safety regulations and EU harmonized standards, EN60204, EN13849
- AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's Level Degree
- Related work experience of 5 years
- Must be willing to travel internationally ~ 50%
- Must be able to work in a highly regulated industry
- Must be able to work to tight deadlines
- Must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Must be able to work in different time zones
- Must be able to work without assistance or management
- Must be able to thrive in a pressurised environment
- Must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with both customers and colleagues
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a design role with an eye for continuous improvement
- An understanding of Machinery safety regulations and EU harmonized standards, EN60204, EN13849 preferable
- 3D CAD experience
- A flexible work ethic and ability to use initiative
- Good analytical and fault-finding skills
- Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team

- Able to demonstrate strong Communication skills
- Experience in diagnosing faults and an analytical mind
