Job Summary
Quantify project components, perform earthwork and underground takeoffs, and prepare self-perform and subcontract cost estimates for heavy civil projects. Visit sites to assess conditions, review plans for accuracy, and analyze vendor quotes to build Hard Dollar estimates. Solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors while collaborating with the estimating team to price assigned items. Maintain relationships with suppliers and support DBE participation goals through targeted outreach. Requires 1 to 5 years of estimator experience on earthwork or underground projects, a preferred Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, and proficiency in Hard Dollar and AutoCAD. Relocation may be required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 to 5 years of experience as an Estimator working on earthwork, grading, or underground projects
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to relocate for assigned projects
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline preferred
- Field operations experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Hard Dollar, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Agtek, and HCSS (Heavy Bid)
