Job Summary
Estimator for water/wastewater treatment plants and heavy civil construction in Jacksonville, FL. Responsibilities include preparing detailed cost estimates for WWTP facilities, yard piping, and civil/structural scopes; participating in all estimating stages and bid production; performing quantity takeoffs and soliciting pricing from vendors and subs; analyzing geotechnical data to model production/equipment needs; defining labor/material/equipment requirements; conducting value-engineering; presenting estimates and project narratives; collaborating with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and subcontractors; mentoring junior estimating staff and Agtek operators; staying current with bid requirements and industry best practices; supporting production-rate and job-cost alignment with operations and finance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil or WWTP construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Primavera P6, or Procore
- Strong math and analytical skills; ability to read civil, mechanical, and structural drawings
- Experience with FDOT, municipal, or utility authority bid practices preferred
