Job Summary
Estimate materials needed for home construction according to company policy and local building codes. Assist sales representatives with customer orders, materials lists, and blueprint reading. Perform trim take-offs, provide contractor assistance, and train staff on estimating techniques. Review actual versus estimated materials upon project completion and control expenditures to meet budgetary requirements. Operate networked computer systems and specialized software applications while adhering to workplace safety policies and completing assigned trainings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in engineering or related area
- 1-3 years construction and building materials related experience
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials
- Ability to interpret building plans in diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to operate networked computer systems and specialized software application programs
- Ability to instruct others in effective use of application software
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Positive interpersonal skills
- Understanding of measurements and basic math principles
