Job Summary
Estimate the amount of materials needed for home construction according to company policy and local building code. Assist sales representatives with customer orders, materials lists, and blueprint reading. Provide support to contractors and train sales staff in estimating techniques and construction procedures. Review actual versus estimated materials upon project completion and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements. Perform other duties as assigned while adhering to safety policies and completing assigned trainings. Requires an Associate's Degree in engineering or related area and 1-3 years of construction experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in engineering or related area
- 1-3 years construction and building materials related experience
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials
- Ability to interpret building plans in diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to operate networked computer systems and specialized software application programs
- Ability to instruct others in effective use of application software
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Positive interpersonal skills
- Understanding of measurements and basic math principles
