Job Summary
Estimator responsible for bid cost estimates and preparing bids for utility work in gas, water, and sewer sectors; manages projects through construction; reviews bid documents; produces timely, accurate estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid; collaborates with clients, contractors, and third-party providers; develops scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and change-control plans; generates RFIs for clarification; prepares bid proposals and SOWs; expedites subcontractor agreements; maintains project information; performs material takeoffs and cost estimates using MS Excel and internal databases; prioritizes workload; strong emphasis on accuracy and communication in heavy civil utility projects.
Required Qualifications
- College degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration
- Five years of experience in related field preferably in heavy civil construction
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid, HCSS Project Management Heavy Job & Timberline
- Knowledge of utility industry
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of project specifications for utility infrastructure construction projects
