Job Summary
Estimator role in the Maryland division supporting the estimating department; responsibilities include preparing and submitting quality estimates within time and funding parameters, soliciting and negotiating bids with subcontractors, evaluating pricing for change orders, and coordinating activities of project personnel to keep projects on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field, has strong verbal/written communication, proficiency with MS Office and project software, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to meet physical requirements. Preferred qualifications include seven years of heavy civil construction experience in the region, and a Certified Professional Engineer (PE) and OSHA certifications, with a company-wide emphasis on MSHA safety policies and client relationships. The role is full-time with a competitive salary commensurate with experience and benefits including health, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and possible company vehicle after probation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university
- A combination of education and experience may be considered
- Driver's license and clean driving record
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Proficient computer skills including internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and specialized project software
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
