Job Summary
Review customer RFQs, engineering drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates for complex aerospace components, including labor, materials, tooling, and outside processing. Develop manufacturing routings and cost models using ERP systems, coordinate supplier pricing, and identify technical, cost, and schedule risks to support bid/no-bid decisions. Ensure all estimates reflect AS9100 quality requirements and collaborate with Engineering and Operations to assess manufacturability and capacity. Maintain historical pricing data to support continuous improvement of estimating accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing estimating
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, aerospace materials, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost analysis tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Pre-employment drug screening, including THC, is required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (JobBOSS preferred)
- Experience with turbine engine components, housings, or brazed/welded assemblies
- Manufacturing engineering or machinist background
- Familiarity with aerospace customers and specifications (AMS, ASTM, MIL)
- Knowledge of heat treat, welding, brazing, and special process controls
