Job Summary
Estimator to join our pre-construction team to develop accurate project budgets, scopes, and proposals. Responsibilities include reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents; performing quantity take-offs and detailed cost analysis; developing scopes of work and competitive bid proposals; preparing RFIs and communicating with clients and project stakeholders; soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and vendor pricing; analyzing labor, material, fabrication, and installation costs; building budgets and bid leveling sheets; identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering ideas; maintaining estimating databases and pricing tools; and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and project management teams. Travel to local and national job sites may be required. Office-based role with occasional site visits; hybrid work arrangement in Elkridge, MD.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar construction/pre-construction role
- Experience estimating curtainwall, railing systems, architectural metals, or related scopes is a strong plus
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Science, or related field
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) designation is an asset
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
- Experience with estimating and take-off software (Bluebeam is a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong Excel and financial modeling/template skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Work environment largely office-based with occasional site visits
- Occasional travel to local and national job sites
