Job Summary
Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate, competitive bid estimates. Develop complete project budgets covering labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, overhead, and profit margins while identifying scope gaps and value engineering opportunities. Conduct pre-bid meetings, site visits, and subcontractor bid reviews to support the transition from estimating to construction. Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and owners to manage change orders and maintain pricing databases. Assist with implementing estimating software and improving industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience estimating commercial construction projects
- Experience with commercial renovations, additions, and new construction
- Strong understanding of commercial building systems and construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of construction contracts and project delivery methods
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
