Job Summary
Partner with project managers to plan jobs prior to initiation, including general conditions studies, procurement schedules, and logistics. Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and establish the pre-construction budget while managing associated funds. Secure the best bids for each trade based on project needs and structure a fair final sub bid process by educating all subs on the Shawmut view of the project. Present proposals effectively to clients based on their specific needs and preferences. This role requires 4+ years of construction estimating experience, ideally in commercial sectors like education or life sciences, with a base salary range of $90,000 to $140,000 in Miami.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related field
- Vast knowledge of all trades: scope, time frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposures and an understanding of MEP systems and components
- Experience estimating in one or more of our sectors: Education, Commercial, Corporate Interiors, Life Sciences, Hospitality, Retail and Sports Venues
- Solid conceptual estimating experience
